2011 (Linda Sierra x Tet. Crystal Blue Persuasion) Sev. 5 - 5.5" fl. 34" sc. M 20 buds. Fertile both ways. The flowers of Blast of Blue are a clear lavender with a blue violet pattern eye and a green throat. The eye is surrounded by a darker burgundy mascara band, which continues around the petal edges as a wire picotee edge. The flowers are held on tall scapes. The plants show excellent rust resistance and the semi-evergreen plants are cold hardy, thanks to the dormant Linda Sierra as a parent. The color of the eye is a very clear medium blue to blue violet. One of my most heavily used parents for my blue lines because of its tall scapes, clear blue color and cold hardy nature.
